Although Pistol shooting is heavily regulated by WA Police Firearms and our associated Governing Shooting Associations the individual challenges within the various disciplines can provide great personal satisfaction with what can be achieved. The sport is open for any gender from 12yrs onwards and considered a lifetime sport with many competing at top level both State and National after retirement. Pistol shooting is a recognised Olympic (Rio 2016) and Commonwealth Games Sport (Gold Coast 2018). Cockburn - Fremantle Pistol Club (C.F.P.C.) is welcoming to new members and provides safety training, competition regulations and specific coaching. The club boasts comfortable facilities and is proud of the continual upgrades of the ranges to meet National competition standards.
The Cockburn - Fremantle Pistol Club was established in 1958 and has been located on Warton Road since 1980. The club is supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation and the City of Cockburn Council through approved grants for continued improvements. The club promotes a welcoming environment for members to enjoy the sport of Pistol shooting from club to elite level.
The club is open each Wednesday night 6.15 pm sharp to new members who may be interested to join. Payment of $10.00 will provide an introduction, safety training and a supervised air pistol shoot in the indoor range with an endorsed Pistol Australia Club Instructor. Currently we have 180 members. Like all sports Pistol shooting has many rules and regulations to adhere to providing one of the safest sports in Australia. New club members are supervised and instructed by a qualified Club instructor. During this initial introduction new members learn safety, club rules, range rules and how to shoot instruction.
