Southern Cross Strikers FC
|||Angela St, Woree QLD 4868, Australia|
Firstly, and probably most significantly, as of 2017, Southern Cross Strikers FC will no longer exist. As you can see, we will now have a new logo. On top of this we also have a new website – www.jcustrikers.com.au, a new email address – [email protected] and new Facebook page (please like). This merge is an exciting step forward for our club. We now have provided an opportunity for our players to continue to play for Strikers from the age of 3 years right through to Senior football.
For the most part, there will be little change to the set up at Strikers. Our Squirts (3-5 year olds), Mini Roos (6-11 year olds) and Junior Competitive teams (12-15 year olds) will still continue to train at Calanna Park, Woree. Our Senior Teams will train alternatively at Calana Park and at JCU oval.
We will be purchasing new travel shirts and each registered player will receive this shirt along with their 2017 training strip as a part of their registration. The junior players will receive a sky blue polo and senior players will receive a black polo as their travel shirts. All coaches will receive a grey polo to wear on game days.
Our players will also be wearing brand new playing strips in 2017. The club will be looking for sleeve sponsors to assist with covering the costs. Sponsorship will be offered firstly to businesses within the Strikers’ family. The sponsorship is a one off payment of $800 that will be maintained for the life of the jerseys. This amount will cover approximately 16 jerseys so a sponsor may appear on several small sided teams. Our previous jerseys were worn for 5 seasons and still look quite respectable so sponsors will receive great value for money. If you are interested in sponsoring a set of jerseys, please contact the club. As an additional way of covering costs, our 2016 strips will be sold off $10. Any members who are interested in purchasing their 2016 playing strip can do so at our sign on days or Meet and Greet.
We are once again looking for more volunteers for the 2017 season. Below is a list indicating vacancies within the club. If you are interested in being involved as a coach, manager or in some other way listed below, please make contact with the club. We are very open to people sharing roles if that makes it easier for our volunteers.
Registration information and costings will be listed on the website as soon as possible. We will also indicate when this information is available by posting information on Facebook. We will again be hosting online registrations but we will also be holding Open Days at the clubhouse on Saturday February 4th & 11th from 9-12pm . These days will be an opportunity for new potential members to ask questions, gain assistance with online registration or to purchase stock.
You will hopefully see our new advertising signs around the suburbs and through school newsletters in the coming weeks. However, we still believe that word of mouth is the best way to spread the good news. Please recommend our club to your social groups by referring them to our website or to Facebook. Please don’t hesitate to contact the club if you need us to clarify any questions.
